Wanting to get off Paxil.

Been on various anti-depressants for twenty years. Currently on Paxil and Trazadone for sleep. Finding that I do not need as much Trazadone for sleep and am tappering off. Should I get off trazaone completely before I make any attempts at cutting back on the Paxil?

BTW, I have found (again) that religion and spiritual strength can help overcome momentary symtoms. Has anyone else found this to be the case?

Thank you for your response. I am learing all the issues about going off these kinds of meds after so many years. My issue is that they have not really helped me that much either, so I am going to put my fate in faith in God and a re-newed interest in seeking help from friends.

Hi

I admire your guts and strength in trying to deal with two drugs that you are addicted to.
But patience is the key word, I know through going to my support group that sleeping tablets are hard to come off, infact the sleeping tablet is swapped for a low dose of diazepan because it is easier to get off and helps with the sleep, you can e-mail CITA my support
group they have helped me so much. I am withdrawing from effexor after the Dr put me into cold turkey by swapping it for a different group of anti-depressants i have been very ill.
So I do hope you do it gently the Dr's always do the withdrawal too quick.
