Here in the Philippines we often use Nizoral (ketokonazole) and I can say that it is effective topical anti fungal cream. I suggest you better see a physician before applying anything sio to be sure what really is in there.
Thankyou i have Lamisil one but it made it swell more i think because wen i put it under the foreskin it created more moisture.
I might purchase canestan. see how that goes. thanku
Hi,
Topical antifungal medications can often cure fungal infections. Many suitable creams can be obtained over the counter without a doctor's prescription.
The following medications are suitable for both dermatophyte and yeast infections:
-Clotrimazole (Canesten® cream, solution)
-Econazole, Ketoconazole and Miconazole ( Monistat).
-Terbinafine (Lamisil® cream, gel, spray)
-Tolnaftate
The creams are applied to the affected area twice daily for two to four weeks, including a margin of several centimetres of normal skin. Continue for one or two weeks after the last visible rash has cleared. Repeated treatment is often necessary.
For more details you can check the URL given below. To determine the exact cause contributing to balanitis, a swab should be taken and sent for bacterial and yeast culture.
This will make treatment more effective.
