Any CURE for brachioradial pruritus? (besides ice as relief)

Thousands of people are suffering with Brachioradial Pruritus, including myself, in my tenth year. It is the most maddening disease and I have learned of no cure. Ice is the ONLY thing to provide relief, and acupuncture has not been effective for me. I have tried all the expensive prescription and steroid creams to no avail. I am losing sleep, and my sanity, b/c it keeps me up all night. I am staying out of the sun, but every year, this persists until December or January. I have read countless articles and blogs about BRP, am sure that is what I have, but have yet to find a cure, and therefore some hope that I don't have to suffer with this every year for the rest of my life. Any new ideas/solutions/cures??? PLEASE?!!!!

Just relieved to know that this has a name and I am not being eaten alive inside. My family just thinks it is all in my head. Last night was unbearable that is what sent me on a search. Thanks

I sleep on my side and if I keep my itching arm propped on a pillow it really helps me sleep at night. I also take 200 mg of gabapentin 2 X daily. Peppermint oil and menthol help, but Stop Pain roll on is my best friend with 8% menthol. There is no season. It can happen all year round. I am on a 6 week run right now. I freeze wet wash cloths and at night rest them on my arm. That way they melt and do not damage the skin. 18 yrs and counting.

I keep a jar of 100% habanero juice in my refrigerator and carefully rub it all over my forearms when the acute itching begins. It works within a minute or so and it works every time. I think it is caused by an internal yeast infection. I started doing an internal 3 week echinacea/goldenseal cleanse every 4 months several years ago for prevention and 90% of my chronic skin problems cleared up. Now I typically have a brief BRP event maybe once a year.

Can imagine doing the habenero juice. If it gets in the eyes or private areas you are doomed. And if so eine comes in contact with you it would be horrible. That's what happens with the pepper cream.

HI everyone I've got a question. Ok so my itch is now gone, since the "season" has ended but now I have nerve pain in my hands and feet so that *****. I discovered I have cervical stenosis and that was causing the itch.  I want to ask others on this forum, did you continue to have insomnia after the itching stopped?? I haven't slept in 6 months and I'm going crazy. 3 months because of the itch and now another 3 months because I don't know why? My body is traumatized from the itching? Can't figure it out but I've tried everything natural, just really don't want to try sleeping pills!

Use menthol. Seems to be working right now.  This is awesome. Tomorrow an adjustment and we will see
