My son last week appeared to have a few bites on his legs mostly upper thigh area and as the week went by, it looked like a bunch on his torso stomach area. Then 2 of his back and some on his arm. Then I saw some on his diaper line and butt as well. I have never seen him scratch at all. This week I took him to his pediatrician who told me that they are bug bites and most likely bedbugs since I told her the weekend before we had been out of town. I searched the house upside down cleaned everything and cannot find one trace at all of anything supporting bedbugs. Two days later I took him to the dermatologist hoping I would have a better answer to what was biting him. My husband and I have not been bit by anything at all. I'm at a dead stop because I don't know what else this could be. I had our bedroom rugs steam cleaned professionally and bought a mattress cover for his crib. Am I missing something here? I'm going crazy with anxiety every single night.

Hi,

You could be having an allergic reaction.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination if the symptoms persist or worsen.

Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing.

Regards.
