LOL...I meant to spell "Correction"!!!
Corredtion......"an" old remedy
Thank you for your interest and information. I started rubbing Benadryl on my hands about 3 days ago and it really helped the itching. I also started using and old remedy....Camphofenique. The scratches are now clearing up. Sometimes those old remedies just seem better than the newer ones. Thanks again for your help.
Hello,
Thanks for the additional information. It looks like allergic reaction. You should use mild soaps and apply some calamine. For the itching you can take some antihistaminic lie Benadryl or Claritin. If the symptoms are severe then you may need topical and oral steroids.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
The itching started after using a golf glove. It itches right where the velcro attachment crosses the back of my hand. I have stopped using it now, but the itch is still there. I think the glove must have lycra in the material. I must have an allergic reaction to lycra. Thank you for your response. I appreciate your interest and willingness to help.
Hello,
These itchy marks can be due to contact dermatitis, hives or scabies. Scabies is a contagious skin infection caused by a parasite – the mite, which burrows under the host’s skin and causes intense allergic itching. It is transmitted from objects or beddings, but more with direct skin- to – skin contact. First the person becomes symptomatic only after four to six weeks of infection. You should get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
