Dry patches of skin

Hi, I'm 20 years old and have recently noticed small dry patches of skin on my upper arms. They are also lighter than the rest of my skin. I used to have eczema when I was younger, but this doesn't itch so I'm not sure if that's what it is. It started to appear after I began taking birth control, could it be a drug reaction?

I am 20 years old and noticed that i had this little dry bump on my thigh. I didnt think much of it because i thought it was just a hair bump developing. Days go by and it has spread, & it is currently spreading. Then i found one on my forearm. Not as big & hasnt spread much. Now i have another one on my left breast. I honestly dont know what this is. & im starting to freak out. Please tell something.

Thanks for your quick response. Yes, I first began to notice the dry patches about a month after I started taking the pills. I have never had dry skin in this area before. I'm not using any harsh soaps or anything unusual on my skin.

Hi

At this point, we can not really say if this has been due to the pills given that you have had a history of eczema before. This may be a dermatitic skin reaction. Dry patches of skin may be signs of xerosis . This may be due to certain exposure to soaps or chemicals. You may need to have this assessed first as fungal infections may also present as dry patches of skin which may actually be itchy (but not always).

Did these dry skin patches appear only after taking the pills?
