Hello,
I can't hardly type because of the pain.  I get extreme skin irritations on my forearms when I sweat if I don't take a shower with soap immediately after sweating.  I dig holes in my arms until blood comes poring out.  It last for around an hour until puss starts oozing out.  I have scars all over my forearms.  HELP!!!!!!

I read on another site that Brachioradial pruritis is actually the forearms, not elbow to shoulder.
Regardless if it's Brachioradial pruritis or sweat dermatitis, the remedies are similar.  So you have shed a great deal of light on my problem.

THANK YOU again.

Hello,
Dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin. Excessive amounts of sweat and the salt contained in human sweat have been considered a major contributing factor to Dermatitis esp atopic one.It can be exaggerated if the individual is already having a prior history of allergies. Treatment consists of applying hydrocortisone-containing lotions, antihistamines and oral steroids in severe cases. So it is important to get it ruled out.

I hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

THANK YOU for your reply!

The only thing about the Brachioradial pruritis possibility is that the itching is only from the wrist to the elbow, otherwise it sounds identical.
Can you give/ get me more information on sweat dermatitis?

Hello,
Two possibilities are coming to my mind after reading your symptoms. Firstly it can be sweat dermatitis. Secondly it can be brachioradial pruritis(more likely).
Brachioradial pruritis is an intense itching sensation of the arm usually between the shoulder and elbow of either or both arms. The itch can be so intense that sufferers will scratch their own skin to a bleeding condition.
The main cause of BRP is not known but there is evidence to suggest that BRP may arise in the nervous system. BRP may be attributed to a neuropathy, such as chronic cervical radiculopathy.

No cure has been found. The only thing that seems to help most sufferers is the application of ice to the area until the itch is diminished. Other treatments include cooling lotions like those containing camphor or menthol, capsacain or local anesthetic creams, amitriptyline and gabapentin tablets and electrical cutaneous nerve field stimulation.

Pls discuss this possibility and these options of treatment with your dermatologist.

I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
