Red spot in pubic area

This happened quite a while ago, I shaved parts of my pubic hair, which caused a red lump, and an ingrown hair to form. I waited about a few weeks, before using a needle and a tweezer to remove the ingrown hair, ever since removing the ingrown hair, the lump subsided, but it left a red patch in that area, and its been like this for a month or 2, it doesn't hurt and it isn't lumpy. Its just a red patch from the ingrown hair, and the patch is about 1cm in diameter.
I tried applying acne cream to the area, but the redness doesn't seem to fade or get any better.
Can anyone give some suggestions of how to get rid of it?

Thanks

Hello,
From the symptoms these bumps after waxing are folliculitis. Pls keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case.

I hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

maybe when you shaved your hair... you haven't washed it carefully that results to that spot... i suggest that you try to use topical corticosteroids... but first consult your doctor... prolonged use could be detrimental to health... also... avoid using constrictive brief that touches that area... it may irritate that spot...
