I removed a splinter and now there is a bump and pus

Hi,
I got a splinter from stepping on chunks of wood in my neighbors yard on the bottom of my foot five months ago and removed it by hand. Now occasionally I will squeeze it and this clearish-blurry liquid comes out. There is also an outline of where the splinter was that left a small “bump”. The liquid comes out when I squeeze the “bump”. The “bump” hasn’t grown or shrunk at all. The hole that I pulled the splinter out of hasn’t closed either, and looks the same as when I pulled the splinter out. It never bleeds. I am a dancer and am on my feet a lot but I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it.
1. What is wrong?
2. What do I need to do?
3. Will this affect how I dance later on if I don’t do anything?

It's possible you still have a little piece of the splinter in the area and that's what is causing the issue- it doesn't sound like it's infected, which is a good thing.

You can get some Epsom salts and soak your foot it in each day.  Keep the area clean and place some antibiotic ointment on the area.  If you start seeing signs of infection- you should head into your doctor to have them take a look and help you clear up the infection.
