Hello,
Gout causes painful arthritis commonly at the base of the toes. Ankles and knees are the next most commonly involved joints in gout. Your uric acid levels are definitely high. You will need medications to lower your blood uric acid levels. You will also need long-term management of the disease in order to prevent future gouty arthritis .Increase the intake of fluids. Weight reduction, dietary changes, reduction in alcohol consumption, and medications to lower the uric acid level in the blood may help. Consult a rheumatologist.
Best of luck and regards!

Thank you so much Dr. Sharma, I did see a rheumatologist and he didn't think it was too bad.  He put me on the drug Sulfasalazine, 2X day, was that a good drug for my gout?  I just had knee surgery yesterday, they said I had arthritis bad in it.  I appreciate your info very much, please email me back, thanks and have a great weekend!!
