Olive Oil

Is it good to use olive oil on a red spot/mark after the scab fell off the skin? would it help to fade it, and therefore blend it in better with the rest of the skin?

Thank you for your answer. How do I know it is a scar? It is slowly fading now from the middle to sides. The trauma happened about 7 weeks ago, and it was very red first couple of weeks, but now there is some improvement in color. Mostly in the morning, when I wake up it is pale, almost blending in with the surrounding skin. But when I wash it, it becomes red and I have to wait until it redness settles a bit. Anyhow, it is still noticable, since it is on my face (on the nose).

Also when I put slight pressure on it, it fades away completely to normal skin color, but when I lose the pressure it is back to its initial form.

Any advice???

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the post it looks like dermatitis  caused by damage to the skin. Apply some calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You can also apply some good hypoallergenic moisturizer and some Mederma on the skin if it is a scar. If the symptoms persist then you can get a microdermabrasion done.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
