What is the best way to remove angioma on cheek of child

My 6 year old son has a large angioma on his cheek.  It started out tiny but has grown to almost the size of a pencil eraser.  We took him to a dermatologist & decided to get laser treatments in hopes of minimizing scarring.  He had is his first laser treatment but so far it hasn't made a difference (a bit bumpier), in fact the angioma has only gotten worse/bigger.  The doctor told us we have to wait one month in between each laser treatment but my fear is its going to keep getting bigger.  Should we just have it removed another way?  Is the scar going to be very bad?  And is it true you have to wait so long for each laser treatment?

Just wondering how this turned out for your son. Did the laser work? My 11 year old has a pyogenic angioma on her cheek and our doctor said laser won't get rid of it. He suggests getting it removed by a plastic surgeon. Hoping your son's outcome was positive!

Updated. Back when I originally posted this reply, I made tye decision NOT to get plastic surgery to remove my daughter's pyogenic angioma on her cheek. The scar would've been twice as long as the actual angioma and this was my precious daughter's face. I trusted my gut instinct not to do it and instead do the laser.
The first treatment helped it but did not fully eliminate it. The laser tech told me it might take one or 2 nore laser treatments but she definitely said I made the right decision as surgically removing it would've left a scar.
We proceeded with another laser treatment later after we gave it some time, and after that, it was barely able to be seen. Fast forward about 6 months and any residual that we could barely see at all WENT AWAY ON ITS OWN! The laser works!
Just wanted to update this because looking back, I still can't believe how this dermatologist had little faith that a laser would work. I'm so glad I didn't listen to him and my daughter's beautiful face was spared an unnecessary scar on her cheek that she would have to see and feel bad about for the rest of her life.
