Permanent Red Spot on Nose

Hi There

About 6 years ago (age 25) I got what I thought was a spot right on the tip of my nose: I tried to squeeze it as I would with any other spot but it did not respond as a spot would and in fact bled slightly.

I have since not tried to squeeze it again and it is still there the same as it was 6 years ago.

It is pale red in colour about the size of a pin head and it is raised from the surface.

I went to my GPs a few months ago and he had no idea what it was and prescribed a 'topical ointment' (for acne I believe) and it did absolutely nothing.

As this is purely cosmetic my GP has no interest.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

S

I have the exact same red spot on the tip of my nose that won't go away, i hate it, its been there for years and drives me nuts... i can't afford a dermatologist, and just want it to be gone. Hope you find something that helps, hope i do too..

Hi. It was a fibrous papule. I had it cut off/our under my Bupa care. I’m left with a small skin colour dent (where it was cut out) but that looks a million times better than the red spot. Hope this helps. Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be fibrous papule of the nose, trichoepithioloma or actinic keratosis. Since it has been present for a long time without any change, so these possibilities need to be evaluated for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
