Extremely foul odor on the underside of neck but nothing visible

Hi everyone,

I'm a 25M. Recently, I've discovered that the underside of my neck has a really foul odor (smells like butt, eww). Luckily, I don't feel like it can smelled from far away. I usually have to rub my fingers on my neck and then I can smell it off my fingers. It is only limited to the underside of my neck in the front. The part where beard hair grow.

I've tried washing it thoroughly, multiple times a day. It is so stubborn that it comes back within like an half-hour of washing and at this point I'm concerned if it a bigger issue and should seek medical advice?

There are no signs of cysts, rash, pain or acne in that part of my body so I've no clue as to what is going on. I recently tried growing a beard (not for the first time ever) and thats when the smell became not noticeable to me. But then I shaved it off but the smell is still there. Could there be a link? I'm not sure.
