Reoccurring rash on arms and hands?

So I've had this rash that comes back I think around summer time. It's usually in the crease of my elbow down to my hands it will be ready and itchy, dry up and then it will come back in a different place on my arm or hands. Either in clusters or lines or even random bumps I've also had it behind my knee area. Every time I get it looked at it is already almost gone and they can never tell what it is.   Well I was looking at my husband's side and he gets bumps that kinda look the same and he said that he has had it since he was a kid ?   I'm really scared that it is a form of herpes and when I mentioned that he got defensive.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion of herpes- it sounds like it may be heat related.  Have you had a doctor take a look at this?  Try to keep those areas clean and dry (even put a little powder on them)- see if this helps, if it doesn't- just make an appointment with your doctor to have them check the rash out.

A rash that usually appears around summer sounds suspiciously like some sort of allergy. The next time it appears, don't wait so long to see your doctor until it's almost gone. They may be able to identify it or want to take a biopsy to determine exactly what it is. It's highly unlikely to be herpes, as an outbreak can happen ANY time, not just around summer. There are two types of herpes virus....HSV-1 and HSV-2.  HSV-1 is usually associated with cold sores around the mouth, while HSV-2 most often affects the genital area. Since YOUR rash is either on your arm, hands or occasionally behind you knee,  you can, quite safely, rule out herpes. See your doctor next time you have a flare and get an answer.
