Seborrheic Dermatitis

Dear,

My Exact Problem is:

Starting stage is flakes with yellow colour. Then it will be broken and ooze some kind of liquids. Then it will get dried and settled down as wound. It is spreading all over the scalp drastically. If i intake antibiotic tablets like ampiclox, ceedox etc, This flakes will temporarily be stopped. But still i could feel my entire scalp as a wound.
If i stopped intaking anti biotic tablet,   Again the above problem comes fast again.

For the last four years I feel itching, scaling and flakes on my scalp. Now only i came to know that this is Seborrheic Dermatitis. Because of this I lost almost 40% of my hairs. I learnt that this is a temporary hair loss.

I tried many shampoo's like selsun, scalpe etc. And also i have been intaking Glacex(B-complex vit)  tablets long time. Still My problem is not resolved.

Last four year i consulted many doctors (Skin specialists). But no one indicated clearly that the problem name is Seborrheic Dermatitis. Just now i find the problem.

My question is:

Can you pls suggest some shampoo's and lotions for this problem? If no, Please suggest me some good doctors in mumbai. I dont know any hospitals in mumbai. I am new to mumbai. I dont want to get treatment to unknown doctors. because my problem is severe.

I lost my hairs. Can i get regrowth if the problem resolved?

Please Help me to resolve the problem.

Hello,

What kind of treatment did your doctor give you?  I also suffer from Seb Derm and have had no luck with treatments.

What kind of oral medications do you take for this problem if any?

What shampoo are you trying for it?

Any success?

Thanks!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium.

If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a trichologist. Regarding the hair loss, unless and until the hair follicles are intact, hair will regrow. Otherwise you may need hair transplantation.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
