Serious rash due to shaving.

After shaving, I get a serious rash on the inner part of my legs. It occurs in both sides, and the beach season is coming up soon. How can i get this off as soon as possible? I've tried everything from Bikini Zone, to a cream my doctor has prescribed, and it hasn't worked. please help?

my doctor prescribed a corticosteroid lotion. even though it stops the burning, it doesn't take the bumps away. it looks really bad, as if millions of mosquitoes bit my legs.

Hi.

This sounds like a case if folliculitis. Folliculits are reddish small bumps on the skin involving the hair follicles. They are small with yellowish centers. Is this applicable in your case?

If this is the case, you may need oral antibiotics. If the rash does not seem to resolve  despite application of topical medications you may seek follow up consult since your medications may need to be modified. Also, there may be a overlying dermatitis or fungal infection which may also delay or prolong healing.

Was the cream given an antibiotic or a corticosteroid?
