Staph Infection and Marriage

Eight days ago I woke up with an abscess on my leg in the groin area, opposite of my testicles. My wife and I promptly went to the doctor and it turned out to be a mrsa infection. The sore was drained of puss and I have been antibiotics taking them on time and will continue to take them on time until they are gone.

My question is: what should we do so that we can continue to have sex without transferring the bacteria to my wife? Obviously we should wait until the cuts are all healed and I complete the rounds of antibiotics. However, everything I have read about mrsa does not discuss how to disinfect healthy skin of staph, only to keep wounds covered. We are ok with abstaining while I am healing but we do not want this infection to compromise our marriage. What should we do?

Hello,
To stop the spread of MRSA infection to your wife, pls abstainf from any skin to skin contact with her till the lesion fully heals. Also do not share any towels, bedsheets or clothes with her.

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

Though infection get transmitted if the resistance is good the chances of trasmission are unlikely.Howevever best to wait for the eradication of the organism.
