Itching beneath the skin, right under nose

Hi,

I've suffered from an itching area right under my nose for as long as I can remember. The itching occurs very randomly (and lasts usually a very short time), or at least I haven't figured out a connection to anything, for example food (I have many allergies, but none cause me skin problems). The area of the itching is also very specific. It does not appear on the sides of my nose, or above the upper lip. Just right under my nose. And there is no rash or anything else that can be seen on the surface of the skin. Except for the redness (which I assume is the permanently damaged blood vessels(??) that are the result of the hopeless scratching that I do whenever it itches). The itching feels like it's coming from somewhere deep under the skin, and I can "scratch" it from the inside of my mouth too by making a weird thing (kind of like pushing the back of my palate(?)) woth my tongue.

I really hope to have an answer to this mystery someday and will send a million thanks to the one that solves it!

Do you think the itching comes when you are smelling a certain smell or anything?  Have you ever kept a log of when you feel it and what is going on around you, where you are, stress levels, food intake?
