Hi did you manage to cure this, I over washed about 4 months ago, the skin on glands became very wrinkled and dry, applying mosituriser got rid of the wrinkles, redness faded apart from a patch from the uretha directly down the front of the glans, saw my doctor, said it was dry and flaky and gave me a steroid cream to use for a week, didn't make much difference, neither has E45 cream, baby oil or leaving it alone, does not burn itch or sting its just there, anyone any advice?
hi again good news the dryness is gone but the redness is persistant and the sides of tge head are normal and same with the shaft but the middle of the head is red and when i stretch the skin to take a closer look there seems to be very small dots that arent visible unless skin is stretched and it seems to vary in appearance from day to day im really puzzled because this whole situation is strange to me. it doesnt itch or sting or burn its just there and i saw a doctor about 2 months ago when the symptoms were the same i got tested and everything was negative im just looking for any advice and wether or not i can be intimate with my gf.
thanks
Hello,
From your symptoms the dry skin of the forehead can be due to dry skin or seborrheic dermatitis. Dry skin results when there is not enough water in the stratum corneum for it to function properly. Too much soapy water, exposure to harsh chemicals, the normal aging process and certain types of skin diseases are some of the causes of decreased amounts of protective skin oils which in turn causes dry skin.
The mainstay of management is liberal use of moisturizers after washing with luke warm water. Soap should be used minimally. Moisturizers should be reapplied liberally during the day.
If the symptoms still persist then please consult a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
