Wondering if its a rash, scarring, or genital warts/hpv?

Hi guys, I am new to this so bare with me. For the past couple weeks I have noticed small growths on the shaft of my penis. The growths don't appear to be cauliflower shaped in appearance, they are not painful, do not itch, or bleed. A couple months ago I experienced some chafing on my penis. I have not been sexual active for about 3 months. The chafing resulted in small cuts on my penis. The cuts were small and thin and all appeared below the head around the part where the circumcision line is. About 3 weeks ago i saw that i had these small growths on my penis around the spots that the cuts were from the chafing. The growths are skin colored and as I said before are NOT painful, itching, or bleeding. At first I thought the growths were just scarring from the chafing. But then i started to wonder if thats what they were so now I am researching this thoroughly. I started researching HPV and genital warts and am now concerned if the growths are related to that and not just scarring. It would be a great help to hear from anyone who may have any incite into this thank you very much, for your time and thoughts.

Hi

When have you started noticing the red marks?

Did you notice the presence of these marks immediately after sexual activity? If this has been noted immediately, I do not think this is infectious in nature. Infections require an incubation period depending on the organisms involved. Rarely do they manifest immediately unless your immune system is weak or the bacterial or viral load is large.

Refrain from any sexual activity for the moment. Observe this and see if it progresses.

Hi

I do understand you are anxious about this. At this point skin colored lesions in the area may still suggest warts, skin tags and molluscum .They are the nearest in terms of characteristic and appearance to skin colored lesions. They also do not bleed, hurt or itch. I do not want to insist that what you have are any of these 3 but these are differentials that we have to exclude first because these skin conditions are infectious and importantly, they can be treated.

With regards to balanitis, yes uncircumcised males are predisposed to this .However, balanitis is not only infectious in nature. They may also present as dermatitis or psoriasis. However, I do not think these ( psoriasis or dermatitis) may be your case. Balanitis is just a general term used for infection and disease involving the penile head.

I'm not a professional or anything like Vanessa but to me it sounds like that may be a yeast infection. since you two probably have different PH levels in your skin.

the penile  head?..hmm would that be under the shroom of my head?.."genital pimples" well like i said when i have popped them it has been no more that just a bleeding consequence it never has itched or burned other than just hurt a little obviously because i popped it so its bleeding for a reason.and by hurt i mean the same little pain you get from when you pop one on your face.this has been a re-occuring problem umm  note that i have had sex unprotected since this came up and my ex girlfriend whom i still had sex with has been tested and didnt come up with anything.im puzzled i guess you can say.she also has pap smears frequently because she is a mother.never has she been found with anything.since my first encounter with these little guys

Herpetic lesions may considered however, herpes may present with clusters of vesicle that may tingle or burn<<<<what does this mean? like i said it doesnt burn itch just bleeds and sits there until i pop them.....

Ok maybe a little more information might help to figure out what it is. they are skin colored and small, look like the pictures of germs you have probably seen (long not exactly straight, and there is one patch where they are larger and longer and another where they are much much smaller but appear mainly as dots. they are NOT/DO NOT painful, bleed, itch, or seem to be spreading. could this be a yeast infection perhaps?

thank you very much for your time and helping.

No i have not been exposed to anyone i know of with the same thing. Im kinda scared to go to the doctor to have it checked even though it is the best plan. Balanitis doesn't apply only to people who aren't circumsized does it? Because after you posted the first message i googled it and it was saying it mainly happens to males who are uncircumsized. Do you know of anything i can do on my own that may help?

Hi

With a significant history of sexual activity, these bumps that you have noted on the penile head (is this location correct?) may be genital pimples. They may be due to bacteria  as in cases of folliculitis only that they do not appear to involve any hair follicles as the area is devoid of hair. You may need topical antibiotics for this as based on your post ,this appeared to be recurrent and almost persistent. Other differentials may be a fungal infection however, you have not noted any itchiness or discomfort. Herpetic lesions may considered however, herpes may present with clusters of vesicle that may tingle or burn. They do not scar also.

Refrain from touching the area .Bacterial infections are contagious and by popping these , you may be facilitating its spread. I suggest you have this assessed early on. Wash the area with a mild cleanser and warm water. Keep the area dry and avoid any sexual activity for the moment. Wash you hands frequently also.

Hi

Balanitis is a curable skin condition. It is a general term given to skin conditions encompassing both fungal and bacterial infections involving the glans penis. This is not something that should really worry you. Have your primary physician assess this so that other possible conditions may be ruled out such as warts and molluscum which are contagious.

Have you been exposed to anyone with a similar skin condition?

you can call me bobby, random but im diggin the name.so lets skip the whole sexual active resume im 21 and well i pretty much have had multiple partners some unprotected so ive had my share of regrets so to speak.ive been blessed and feel lucky to have never expierenced any "symptoms"from any of the stds ive done research on.god is watching i believe.so my question i had unprotected sex about a yr ago. so fall semester comes around in school and im good right?...this nightfest came about late august i remember because school was the very next monday...august 20 was the term in which i started school so this happend that saturday weekend. so about late october early november im doing my usual in the shower and to my surprise i see this pimple like thing "bubble" on my penis around a 9vien) im an uncircumsized male so im aware of basic acne on the penis ...this was different though i basically went nuts and paniced.i gave it a few weeks .never went away i said the hell with this and i popped it.it didnt do anything all these sites say about certain std's this thing just bleed i cleaned up and forgot about. weeks later that **** returns just on a different spot. where my head is at kinda around the gladns..thats between the under area of the penis and the shroom of the (head right)...well i got one there..i left that one alone just because its a ***** to pop these.they are so small but i can feel them nice and sterdy.so i payed no mind.then where i had originally popped the first that ******* came back..did the same.by now this is late december and these fuckers keep coming back..i recall on new years night i had one at the very same spot as the original one.i popped it havent seen one on there since..but i still have one on the left under my head and one on my right..they havent gone away. and i keep popping the one on my right and everytime seems like on more little guys is added to the battle but it always surfaces back on the same spot never into a full blown thing.they never scab itch hurt all that etc.i was reading an article about oil producing glands any insights?
*note when i pop them i dont know why but i inspect the little thing that rises out of it..feels and look very much like the white little fellas that come out your pimples when you pop them they look very similar.i have put off the visit to the doctor for a few months now but its time i get it checked im aware i would just appreciate some sort of relief words of the wise if you will..i hope i made this as clear as possible to read and understand if not then i would be glad to thank you ....

Hi

Skin colored bumps on the penile shaft associated with sexual activity may have genital warts or an HPV infection as its likely differential. HPV infection in men manifest as genital warts and unlike in women, there is no test which may ascertain the diagnosis. Vaccinations are not available for men to prevent HPV infection. The infection is ascertained only during physical manifestation of the skin lesions.

I know you are worried about this. This may be a case of balanitis. Balanitis is a skin condition which may include a dermatitic condition .Have this assessed by your physician early on as you may need topical medications for this.
