painful rash

my husband gets the same rash every year sometimes its worse. one year he ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks.  its starts out on his feet like athletes foot then turns into horrible itiching blisters, then raw flesh then it spreads to his hands. when he went to the hospital it had started spreading up his legs.  we can't figure out what causes this.  please help us he is having the problem again right now.

staphylococcal cellulitis generally starts from an Athletes foot and extends up.The lesions on the hand are difficult to explain but possibly relate to the same infection.
Keeping the feet clean and application of miconazole powder is said to prevent recurrence.
