I have just recovered from a shingles rash on my shoulder, Im a 46 year old female. Im on phentermine HCL 37.2mg diet pills One a day. I have been taking this for a month and it has affected my sleep. Im also going through the stress of my mothers death 3 weeks ago. Could all this have triggered the shingles rash? Or is there something else wrong? The rash has cleared but I now feel pins and needles in most parts of my body. I hear that shingles could also be a sign that one might be HIV positive. Im worried I had unprotected sex 9 months ago. Any Dr please advise.
Hello,
Shingles is an infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which is the virus that causes chickenpox. Shingles occurs in people who have had chickenpox and represents a reactivation of the dormant varicella-zoster virus. If you do cunnilingus, then you may not get shingles but if you have not had chicken pox then it can be transmitted.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
