Feels like I have a blister on my finger but there is nothing there

Hi,

I have for 2 days now had a funny sensation on the tip of my index finger, which feels very much like a blister but there is no visable blister or wound of any kind where the feeling is. It does not hurt, it's more uncomfortable than anything.
Possibly related, I have had numbness in the tip on my thumb on the other hand. The thing is, I have read that it is possible that herpes or something can cause this without having any other symptoms ie. Warts etc.
Its beggining to make me really anxious as I dont know what it is and it seems like such a small thing to go to the doctor for. But it's really bothering me.

Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you

If it's really bothering you, it's not too small to go to the doctor for- it's possible the wound just hasn't come to the surface yet, or isn't visible- it's also possible it's not from something on the skin but another issue, so to be sure- go ahead and make an appointment with the doctor to be checked out.  Let us know how you are!
