How high is your A1C? Just curious. My A1C is 6.6 without meds and my feet hurt all the time. My doctor says i don't need meds yet.

It takes time for the nerves to recover.  Typically time is 6 - 9  months - because this is how long it takes the nerves to regrow.  The pain may actually get worse before it get better - as the growing of the new nerve can also be painful.  This is very important to know as it will help if you understand why there is pain and that this is actually a sign of recovery (as long as your blood sugars continue to be excellent).

Keep up your excellent blood sugar control and things will definitely start improving.

By control, we mean getting your blood sugar in the range of 80 - 140 all the time.  If your blood sugars are high, you need to look at a lower carb diet, exercise, and changing from oral meds to insulin if the oral meds are not enough.

Neuropathy is reversible, though it takes 6 - 9 months, if you get your blood sugars under control.
