The level of 130 would be considered elevated. However, as the answer above explains, the fasting blood glucose is not the best test for diagnosing diabetes. I would recommend that you speak with your doctor about what they would recommend as the next step for more reliable testing to see where you stand.

The fasting BG is what all the MD use however its not a good test to see what is going on. for one thing testing, "Dawn Phenomenon" (DP) also hits in the morning and can raise BG (Blood Glucose). It is well known that the fasting BG numbers are last numbers that go bad, meaning you can have problems with BG before they show up in the fasting test. Like checking to see if the barn door is open by looking for horses in the stalls, if the stalls are empty then the door is open. much better to look at the barn door.
So get a meter test before then drink 24 oz of coke or 2 cans of coke (12oz cans). then test every 15 minutes for 2 hours. that will tell you if your phase 1 insulin response is good or not as well as your phase2 response. a non diabetic BG will not go over 140 , pre-diabetes is BG 141 to 200, diabetic is BG over 200 (note one test and not a medical test at that does not make a diagnosis)
