Boxer dragging bum

Our boxer female is 7 years old & drags her bum on the floor & seems irritated. She is up to date on all shots, deworming, etc. My mate believes she has anal glands that get swollen and need to be 'popped' almost so he does the glove thing, goes in & pops them. Is this normal?
Thanks for any advice!

Yes, impacted anal glands are common in dogs, and they usually do the "butt scootin' boogie" to advertise their discomfort.  While I'm glad your friend is willing and able to express them, it's still a good idea to have a vet or licensed groomer do this - particularly if it happens frequently.  Sometimes impacted glands can eventually abscess and cause a lot of pain and mess and the dog will need antibiotics to help it heal.
