6 months ago I adopted a pug, one and a half to two yrs old. He was found in the street, appeared to have no human contact as he wouldn't respond to any verbal commands. He was not neutered but took care of that immediately. I've been training him and he has done very well, although it's been a long process and also a heavy chore on me. I didn't want another dog at this time. I already have a 13 yr old black male. I wanted him to enjoy his twilight years in peace as he has been an incredible obedient loyal friend. Anyhow, I've gotten the pug house trained and now understands verbal commands well. However, he still does the marking of everything, mostly outside. Lately he has been marking the adult lab while they are both outside. I don't know how to stop this behavior and it really bothers me that I can't just let them out to enjoy the large yard without worrying if he is marking the patio walls, chairs, outdoor grill and anything else that may be outside, but on top of that is the pug bullying my older lab by peeing on him. Do I have to watch the pug 24/7. I have to crate him if I take a shower or go to the laundry room as I don't trust him yet. I have found trickles of pee on the corners of walls, seldom but I have found his markings. So, if I can't watch him I crate him. Although crating him while I'm home is at a minimum, I have to watch him like a hawk and make sure I have an eye view of him at all times. I crate him through the night because the times I've let him stay on his day bed he'll sneak of and mark a wall. Any advice?
