My dog picks up ticks here in our jungle farm in Costa Rica. I pick them off by tweezers. Lucky she's never had an adverse reaction to the ticks. They're gross.
I have a 6 year old Jug that was diagnosed with diabetes back in June 2014. From June through to the end of August we couldn't get his blood sugar under control and we tried various types and doses of insulin. In the beginning of September he was diagnosed with Cushing s Disease as well and was put on Trilostane to try and control the Cushings. After many tears and trips to the Vet my dog is doing great. 14 units of caninsulin is given twice a day and 25 MG of trilostane once a day. We also give him Zentonil 200 every evening to try to keep his liver enzymes at a reasonable level. To look at him now you wouldn't know he has any health issues at all.
