Can dogs catch nits at all

You mean Lice?  Yes, there are types of lice dogs can get.  Are you sure you are seeing Lice?
If that is the case,mshe dog and environment have to be treated and cleaned.

Looks like I need to look up the word "nits" or you may want to explain here and say why you ask.  I've been around dogs for many years and none have caught nits that I know of.
