Pups are curious, especially if they are hungry and anything is put in front of them! They will try to chow down on it. But I don't think mangoes and all the other food is a good idea. Not for a 5 week old pup, like we said before in your last post. He needs something from the vet for when he is weaned, (old enough to eat solid food) some puppy food from the vet might be a good idea to start with.
Formal leash training shouldn't begin until 3 months of age to avoid damage to the neck, trachea and esophagus. A piece of dry puppy food is fine to use as a lure and positive reinforcement tool, but your puppy isn't ready to be fully weaned yet. Right now he should be with his mom and be drinking milk. If mom isn't available, goat millk is a great substitute.
I'd hold back on sweets of ANY kind for dogs anyway. Not a good idea. It will rot their teeth, and might cause diabetes.
Sometimes I found that affection is often the best treat for a dog. It doesn't always have to be food. The sound of your voice, laughing, a rub of the ears, a few silly words......those can mean a lot to a dog. Many dogs are very happy to please. They love these signs of pleasure and affection from us. They will often learn quick if they get that.
oh no !
i think hes been addicTED :o
he aint eat regular food without mangos ...
what should i do :(
the puppy should not be away from the adult dog until 7-8 weeks 7 weeks minimum, and the dog probably should not start training until about maybe 8 weeks depending on the breed, the sweet treats are a big no because the puppy only starts eating puppy food around five to six weeks.
I do not give "treats' One of my dogs has severe allergies so we use their food as treats. I do think 5 weeks is too young to be giving anything besides their regular food. (just my opinion)
