Thank you Karla. Odis was at vet today again. He has kennel cough. The vet was at a lost when I told him about the stool he has been having. Started introducing the RC into his bland dieet tonite. Wil see how it goes... Also we do not get canned pumkin in SA know this from diaree he hade a couple of months back... The lady I met on Fb told me low fat foods... RC gastronal intestinal is high in fat I wil try it first ?et recommdation her dog also get RC GI but the low fat one... Will keep posting as it goes. Thanks so much...
I'm not familiar w/this disorder, but I do have some suggestions...I personally, WOULD NOT feed ANY dry food to your dog...It's much harder to digest!!!
Use your Royal Canin Intestional Diet...You said you bought 12 cans....The canned is perfect and is made to do what you need at this point......
You can change food at a later time, but for now, use the RC. You will need to feed it for a month or 2.....
I also would add 1 teaspoon of canned pumpkin to each meal....You want pure, canned pumpkin from the grocery store.....
Do not continue to switch foods.....The stools you are describing can be as simple as too many food changes without slow introduction of each...Stick w/only the RC and pumpkin and see if you get better results......Karla
A nother question. I usally pick up odis poop right away but this morning was a little crazy. Since feeding bland he's poop is a little orange supose its from the carrot. But when I went to pick it up now some of the orange hade gone a little green is this normal?
Sorry to hear about you been sick are you beter now? He just woke up coughing. I think it may be kennel cough from the hospital stay I'm steaming him now in the bathroom with exaluptus oil. I'm so scared about his interior wounds at operation site. So this was propebly it not an allergie. I just hope he is going to pull through this he has not even properly heal from the operation and now this.
Sorry, been sick so not checking often.
Glad you found someone dealing with this as she may have helpful information.
