I am somewhat familiar with this disorder in people. Can you give more info? How was this diagnosed, symptoms? Vet's recommendations?

Oky this is an long story. He hade Spirocerca lupi last year march. Since then he hase hade a sensitive stomach been to my recular vet weekly since nov which I'd verios test and found nothing. Went to spesialist in des they told me he was in great helth. Jan he started vomiting and has diaree I thought the worm was back 20 jan took him for endocopy nothing his stomach was inflamed but they told me I should discourge scrap eating was putt on maxihealth ocean dry food. He cont. to get worse vomiting, gas ex. I could not go to specialist again so I took him to another vet said to be the best in our area. They did 8-rays with borium sulfate after 7hours there was stil bs in his stomach the vet said it could be a piece of plastic or that his pyloric valve might be narrow he has to operate. When he phoned me 20H30 he said that was not the case and the S-lupi caused nerve damage which is restricting contractions of the stomach. He also cut the musle of the pyloric valve to make food flow more easy into instinals. Recommondations purina dog food or tabele food (anything were eating) aslong as its soft food. We don't eat very nutrienal so he said the huskey. But I found big pieces of bone in the Huskey also removing smal pieces of bone with each 2 hours of feeding and its very fatty  it is also causing his poo to come out like its covered in plastic. He needs good safe food but I'm at alost bcause I have always fed hills dry or eukanuba ex. And he now also has the operation to his stomach and sensitive to foods. Today he has very loud stomach noises and does not want to eat the huskey. Also on cimetidine and clopomon he finished is antibiotics on sunday.

I would have to do some reading up on this issue in dogs.  I am somewhat familiar with delayed motility in people so am assuming the "mechanics", so to speak are the same.  Sounds like he has an irritated gut too.
He needs to be on a bland food that is easily digested.  Try cooking up some chicken (no skin) and rice and you could add some vegetable like shredded zucchini.  Feed him small amounts 4-5 times a day because the stomach is not emptying fast enough and this also causes pain, possibly gas and bloating.  Ask your Vet about giving a probiotic, especially since he was on antibiotics.
Can be very hard to treat and various protocols out there.
The cimetidine is for stomach acid, it will not help the motility. The other drug I would have to look up.
Best thing you can do now is try the bland diet only and small meals only.  If it is a JRT, I would only feed about 1/4 cup of food at a time maybe every 5-6 hours.
Maybe this will help.
Please keep us updated and hope he improves.

Thank you for advice. He hase been getting probics since 2012 I cooked chicken and rice and some carrots. And then I pureed it. He ate it I will go to the grocerie store as soon as hubby gets home don't want to leave him alone at this point. Is carrots oky? So you think its un irrated gut do you think it does have anything to do with the ingrients in the food I mentioned?

Carrots should be ok.  Good to purée the food just remember to feed small amounts a few times a day.  Kibble and beef would be hard to digest.
Try this for a while and see how he does.

I would not worry about the diet for a week.  See how he does.  You can ask your Vet what supplements to give.

We have a member on the forum, Karla, that is well versed on diets.  She may be able to come up with a nutritious, bland diet.  I would stay away from beef as it can be hard to digest, no treats, etc.

Often with motility disorders you see constipation or diarrhea.  How are the stools now?  Hopefully, the gut will heal and calm down.

I wouldn't worry about that yet.  You have a coveted patio or garage?  If so, you might try putting shredded paper in one of those areas and keep taking him there and just wait a while.  He may or may not go but he will have to pee sometime.  Just relax.
Did you start feeding small amounts a few hours apart?  His insides are all out of whack and need time to adjust to the meds and the diet.  Hoping this will all work out.

Hi he defecated 5 times and then there was water coming out of his anus about 15 times after that. I got so scared I took him it the vet. He is not worried he said his large intestinal is proberbly irrated. He said I can now start giving small kibble and pedigree if I'm worried about huskey. He took out his stiches gave me cortizones and metodizole. I asked about bland dieet he said not nesassary. I'm freakin out here and he says I can give kibble. I'm not a vet but what de devil. I don't feel my dog is oky and he doesn't seem to think there is anything wrong with plastic coverd stool. I'm I crazy what is your thoughts on this. I mean he said odis stomach is not contracting as it should and now he is saying I can start giving small kibble.

Also asked about vitamins and calsium he said I shouldn't feed homecooked. Because odis will not receive enought nutriention. I should rather go with pedigree if I'm scared about the husky. He doesn't sell these products so why why won't he recommend good foods to me. Sorry about my spelling and pharsing English is not my language for communicating frequently.

Well, you have to decide whether to listen to your Vet.  The plastic stool is probably mucus from the irritated intestine.  Pedigree is not a good food.  Where are you located? Nit sure what foods you have available.  Was his stool firm or loose?  If it were me, I would still stick with the bland diet at least through the week.  If you want to try kibble, get a good food with either chicken or fish as the main ingredient.  You can grind that down fine and add it half and half to the bland food.  Again, feed "small" meals a few hours apart.  His stomach is not emptying fast enough to give him a big meal.  Many people feed home cooked but it does have to be balanced nutrition but you are ok on the bland diet for a few days to let his gut rest.
Don't know why there was so much water in the stool.  I assume he is drinking ok.
I am no Vet, this is just what I would do.  Try the meds he gave you and you will just have to wait and see how his body adjusts.

Located in south africa. I read the reviews on the pedigree and I agree. I would rather feed him home cooked but not getting much info on my cell phone. Internet extreamly slow and there is so much conflicting information out there. I have been searching for a home cooked dieet for awail now but since neither my vet or the other vet will assist me it makes it even more nerve rekking. I also searched for an dog nutrienalist in south africa and only found one in cape town that is along way from where I say 12H. Regarding stool I'm also confused. I do through in some water about 1/4 cup when I blend the ingrients the water from the cooked chicken but he is not drinking a lot of water elswhere he maybe takes a sip after meal but maybe one or 2 sips but that's it. He also urienens after every meal. He is also wheezing a lot tonite. And he has some red spots around his mouth I don't know if he is allergic to the bland dieet. I'm now feeding 3T every 3 hours instead of 2T every 2hours. To see how much his tummy can handle.  It like I said in the epi forum the other day that is only the only thing I hate about living in south africa it hard to get petcare at afforable prices I don't mind spending money on my baby and its not like I can't afford him but the last couple of months has taking a lot out of me emotionally I also hade to take out a lone for the operation and everything. But not complaining I still have enough money to buy him good food just not sure what to get as we are very limited on dogs foods. And on days like this I feel hopeless because I don't feel he is inproving. And don't know if this is just ment to be or if I'm doing everything wrong I'm just trying my best and the vets are really not much of help.

He may not need the extra water but would like to see him drinking a bit more.  I can see you have a problem in regards to food availability and Vets.  See if the one in Cape Town has a web site.  Also, they might do a phone or mail consultation since you are so far away.  You might check on that. Do you feed in plastic bowls?  Yes, I would space out the feedings, like I said.  If the Vet is right and this a motility disorder, you want to give the stomach time to contract and empty.
Are you just feeding the chicken, mice and carrots?  Could be but I doubt it is the diet causing the spots.
If you are seeing spots around his mouth and he is wheezing, give the Vet a call as it may be a reaction to one of the meds.  Keep an eye out fir any swelling of his face, mouth on tongue.
Feel bad for you, not an easy case and please do remember that we are not Vets but I don't feel I have given you any information that will hurt the dog.  You know your dog best. Any questions, always consult your Vet.
I will see if I can get in touch with Karla to read this.

Yes that is all he's eating. It could be the meds I did a experiment this morning he looked fine so I just gave him some food after about 20 min he started wheezing again. He does not have plastic bowls. After the last time a bee stang him he had a bad reation to the plastic bowl so he has a stainless steal water bowl and glass eating bowls, o no he just started coughing!!!! I don't know what to do anymore. Do u think hills is beter than pedigree maybe I should buy hills Z/d cans just to see awaile I know all the ingrients and I know its not a good food but I can't handel an allergie on top of everything els aswell. I don't none here are vets but sometimes it helps to get other owners opions and advice and I do appricate it it trail and error I realize that.

I phoned the vet and told him what was going on. He said I should use royal canine intetinal something he said it more expensive but it has pork in the first ingrients and I hade to take 12 cans and he does don't think its the meds. I looked it up and it has pork byproducts in first ingrient and also chicken and rice when I phoned back he said all product has chicken and rice in and that he already order it so I must take it. This is what I'm dealing with.....

Are you feeding chicken and rice and carrot?  Anything else in there?  Has he had chicken or carrot before?  Anything is possible but I have never heard of a dog having an allergic reaction to that food.  I am not a Hills fan but would probably feed that over the Pedigree but it has been a long time since I have looked at the ingredients in either. Don't have time now but may look it up later.  The Hills might be easier on the stomach.  Can you get Pro Plan there?
Was he coughing or gagging?  Did that stop?  Well, if nothing else, try fringing up his old food into a gruel, or very small pieces with some moisture and see what happens but, again, small amounts spread apart.
So sorry you are struggling with this.  Start keeping a journal as to fiod, meds, stools, etc and you might see a pattern.

Thank you Margot. If heard about a lot of allergies in dogs never tought odis hade one but he was put on Z/D just before he was diagnosed with S-lupu but after that I thought that is was probebly the worms causing his symtoms. I do keep an journal since his allergies to bees started in 2012. He has really been through so much in his life but we always seemed to handel it day by day. I never felt the need to join a group or anything like that was always so intrested in feeding him home cooked but I was always to scared to do this because my vet never wanted me to. But lately I don't know what to give him to eat everything is causing something and I mean he needs to eat that is all I know but what is the question... I just wish we could change the FDA se mind about theire guidlines or what ever to produce pet food. I mean don't they now that pets as just as valuable as babies to some of us.... If only we could change theire minds but it inposible. He is still swallowing hard vet said he cortizone will help with that no coughing when he lays down anymore but when he barks at something he is still coughing ( not gagging)

I'm so scared about his interior wounds at operation site. So this was propebly it not an allergie. I just hope he is going to pull through this he has not even properly heal from the operation and now this.
