thanks very much for your response. We are seeking a second opinion about our dog.
Sorry to hear about your dog. I am very grateful that you found the time to respond to my post despite your distress and grief. Thanks.
my dog just yesterday suddenly died. we dont know why but we suspect an injury to his stomach. he had stomach issues. but one thing you must remember is if you see blood even the smallest amount in the poop or vomit or if she stops eating she must go to the vet it is an emergency.
I would want more then my Vet suspecting a malignancy just on a physical exam. I am not saying he is right or wrong but would think he would want to do more testing. Was blood work done to access organ function? If there was free fluid in the abdomen, was an aspiration done for evaluation? Did he suggest an Ultrasound as this may show any specific organ problem and fluid in the abdomen. Unless there were more definitive answers, I would certainly hesitate any surgery being done, especially on an 11 year old dog. I am not a Vet and am only going by what you posted. I would speak to your Vet about this further or seek a second opinion. Good luck and please come back to update.
