Dog died suddenly and I don't understand why

My three-year-old maltipoo died suddenly overnight. He was fine yesterday, played, and ate his dinner. During the night, he threw up twice, once in his kennel, and again on my parents' bed. After I cleaned it up, I gave him some carrots and put him back in his kennel. We went to let him out this morning, and found out he was dead. He never had any health problems, so this is a shock.

I am so sorry.  There could be any number of reasons.  Any chance he got into any type of poison? The only way you might find the cause is to have your Vet do a necropsy.
