Sorry to read the battle for life has ended. I think dogs and other animals sometimes stop eating when they "know" it is time to die.
The rescue worker who brought our Westie back to the living said one of her biggest struggles was getting the dog to eat. This dog was a adult dog at the time but was near death from starvation and yeast infection. I mention only as a reference to the struggle it can be to bring an animal back, a puppy may be the hardest.
Bless you for trying.
Oh, sorry to read this, been there. As sad as it is, something was wrong and better this happened now rather than later.
Kudos to you for trying.
Hugs
She died. I do believe that if i had gotten her early she have a better chance. Vet was not very rewarding. She said to just keep doing what i was doing. I do believe that she had more wrong with her. She just didnt want to eat one day and wanted to be held i held her and then she passed a little later. Thanks for in puts
She should be able to be lifting up her head. It is possible she sustained a cervical injury during the birthing process. Agree with Karla that she should be seen by a Vet. Good luck
Welcome.....You need to get this girl to your Vet ASAP......He/she will instruct you on the feeding procedure and suggest a milk supplement.....Your Vet will also be able to tell you if your fighting a losing battle & then the decision to do what's best for the puppy can be made....I wouldn't keep guessing as this puppy may be suffering without your knowledge.....Make the call now & please let us know what happens....Good luck, Karla
Thank you for taking her in, giving it a try.
I don't have any experience with very young puppies, but believe 3 weeks if very young... but given she couldn't get any nourishment from her mother is a bad sign. Still, that you have been able to get her to eat suggests there is a possible way forward.
What kind of dog is she?
