Mini dachshund drinking & eating issues
I have a mini dachshund puppy and she is 4 months old. I have to feed her in small increments in a slow feeder bowl because it seems like she gets choked on her food.
She will have a similar reaction when she drinks water. Almost like she gets water up her nose when she drinks.
Is this normal? I've never had a dog have this happen before.

I feel you should let a veterinarian examine her mouth. She could have a cleft palate. That is my first thought, but definitely take her for a physical exam, as something isn't quite working as it should. Dear little pup. I hope it is solved soon.
Do you know if the puppy was always in a race in her litter to get the food wolfed down? Can you check with her breeder for an opinion?
