My Pitt Bull has bumps all over her body!!??

She was fine this morning and this afternoon, then when i came home tonight i let her out of the crate and there are dime sized bumps all over her body!!  i don't know what this is or what to do about it.. but i can't afford to take her to the vet right now - i just moved from new york to california... I gave her some benadryl and put some anti-itch cream all over her body for now... i know it's not fleas cause she has had them before and never had an allergic reaction and i know it is not the food she's eating because she has been eating the same food for 4 months and the same brand but in puppy chow before that since she was 8 weeks old.  i feed her purina.  can anyone help?  anybody know what is wrong with my baby???

get your dog off the wort food Purina /Pedigree , try making it , brown rice peas, kale , apples, carrots etc and some dry dog food that is natural like, solid gold with  no gluten a shiny blue white sparkly bag or two tone pink bag with a dog on it. Look for natural dog food no grains, wheat, corn or soy and do not buy dog food with dirty chicken . Chicken is the worst. I have a rescue and all animals on natural with home cook food.

today I came home and my pitt/lab mix had bums all over and swollen mouth. My vet wasnt in the office today so they said it sounded like and allergic reaction and to give him benadryll and if he isnt better bring him in tomorrow morning. Scared the heck out of me but after reading all the posts here I feel a little better. Will keep a watch on him tonight

I have no idea why this thread about a dog's skin issues has picked up so many inappropriate comments and nasty posts. They are unnecessary and in bad taste.

This forum is not for religious arguments or back-and-forths of hatred for each other. It is here for the welfare of dogs, and is viewed by all ages.

Please can everyone bear that in mind, and although this is a very old thread indeed, if any further comments or questions must be posted on here, keep them relevant to the original thread.

But it is better, if anyone has a question about a dog's skin issues, to post a whole new thread. New threads get maximum attention, but some of these old ones can 'bury' a genuine cry for help.

You know what...I grew up in a Southern Baptist home and community. We weren't Bible beaters, just church on Sunday "because that's what you do." I always heard this...about dogs not having a soul and it's the most ridiculous horse$hit I've ever heard. I've been hardcore into pit bull rescue for over 20 yrs. When you look into the eyes of a precious dog, especially one whose been neglected, all you see is love and gratitude. My latest rescue, Lux, saved mine and my daughters life from a meth freak who did a B & E in our neighborhood and tried to get into our house to hide from cops. I'll tell you who doesn't have a soul. Religous zealots who think they can pick and choose who is rightous and who's gonna "burn in hell!" I do believe that hell is full of hipocrites. It's the best place for 'em!

I have a 4 year old pit bull. Over the past 3years she has had more skin allergies. Its only during the summer. During the winter she has title to no troubles with her skin. When she was 2 I did a food test and its not that, these symptoms are not year round. I noticed after she's been outside on a really hot day the bumps will occur, but usually clear up by the next day. Her coat also has an oil like feel almost like she's sweating and has an odor. Shell chew up those paws too, which i believe is from the grass. She will even avoid walking in the grass if it gets bad enough. My vet strongly believes its the grass and pollen. I've read everyones blogs with similar symptoms and it seems its always during the summer. My dog was put on Temaril-p and another antibiotic and her coat looked beautiful and she felt great. It seems it is really common in pits to have skin allergies. But I do suggest the Temaril though. i used it for about a month and she did great the rest of the summer.
