There is a chance your dog has Pancreatitis and, if that is the case, he us in pain and needs to see a Vet ASAP! You must have some resources. Check with the Vet and see if they offer an insurance plan!
my name is Maysen My dog seems to have the same problem.I've looked around I've called around and all the vets want a high price for me to bring him in there and at the moment I cannot afford it so I thought I contact you somebody who knows about pets . But i have a 9 month old lab and 2 days ago he had gotten into the trash can and had ate some Mexican rice that was pretty old and last night he was acting pretty funny his stomach was making weird sounds and this morning I let him out and he goes to the bathroom he ate a little bit but not too much I've been trying to keep him hydrated but all day he has been in the same spot pretty much not really moving and making weird breathing sounds like his breathing is off but what scares me the most is that his stomach is really hard now I can't figure out if maybe he's constipated from the food if the food had mold in it or just because the rice was old also if the rice had worms in it maybe he's has worms in his stomach.if you can help me in anyway give me any advice I really appreciate it also I got him from the shelter about 3 months ago so he has all of his shots
Was there anything else in with the taco meat? Like onions or garlic etc? If so, your dog will need to see a vet as urgently as you can get her there.
Another question....was the meat very fatty, and was it a fairly large portion? That could cause pancreatitis. If so, do at least call the vet on the phone for advice.
If it was just plain meat then it's most likely an upset tummy, and that plus the hot temperatures will make her feel a bit down. Usually after 24 hours of fasting with only water and/or Pedialyte she should feel a bit better.
Hopefully, she will be ok once this is out of her system. Try withholding food fir 24 hours then just try a few meals of chicken and rice. Yes, do keep her hydrated! Hope she won't get worse.
