My puppy bites

I have a 5 month old Maltese which tries to nib bite my family and I. We always handled her with care , as in we were never aggressive with her. I know that nib biting can lead to biting at older stages which can become dangerous. What can I do to stop her ? I have read a technique online that if the dog bites you should say OUCH in a loud voice and turn away as if you're upset. I have no idea if that would work or if it's even appropriate to do
Please help I don't want him turning into an aggressive dog or even worse hurt me or one of my family members

One other thing, until she calms down, don't play tug of war games with her as this will only exaggerate the biting/aggressive issues.  Do play with her but try tossing toys or balls

Hi, puppies can be challenging.  Obviously, the forced submission is not a good idea.
Your first method is better.  Puppies learn from yelps from litter mates what is and is not acceptable.  You can say "ouch" loudly and completely stop the playing.  Do this whenever she nips.
The puppy we adopted about a year ago was about 4-5 mos old and a biter, not aggressive, but biting harder than she should on people and heel nipping.  I also do the "ouch" routine but I went more to a Caesar method of poking her but I gave a No B ite command and stopped the playing.  If she was biting too hard. I would poke her shoulder or back thigh area, not hard but enough to make an impression.  It would distract her enough to get her attention.  She did get better and I could usually stop her with a "No! Easy!"  When she stopped, I would praise her.  Even now, if she starts that, I will give her a No Bite command and she will usually start licking and I praise her.
Main thing with puppies is patience and consistency.
Have you started any obedience training at all? She is old enough to start some basic commands like Sit, Down, etc and you give small treats.  This will also help establish you as the pack leader.
Hope this helps some.  Good luck and keep us posted
