Natural bug repellent for my pup

I have a 6 month old mixed breed dog that I take to the dog park daily. The park has cedar and bark pieces throughout, but some dirt underneath which the dogs love to roll around in. The no seeums seem to hang around the dirt and I'd like to find some kind of natural insect repellent. I recently found a product called The Bug Patch for myself which is deet free and 100% Thiamine B1 and seems to work. Is this also safe for dogs? I read the package and it says it's safe for children 3 and up, but nothing about pets. I think it would stick to his belly pretty good, but want to check to see if it's safe first.

Thanks!

My favorite Repellent for Canines AND their Owners is an all natural herbal spray. The name is: "Herbal Defense" and is sold by "Only Natural Pet Store" in Boulder, CO. They have a wonderful online store. The spray consists of Neem oil, Lemongrass, Catnip, Citronella, & other essential oils. It smells Great! Can be used on Dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, and Humans...I use it on me, all the time....Good luck...Karla

There are a few all natural fly sprays that are made for horses and dogs. Farrier's Wife is one that I use for both my horse and my dog on long hikes. I believe they have a website if you search. Stop in your local horse supply shop and ask.. Just don't get one with lots of chemicals and make sure it says safe for doggies..
