Something going on with my dogs butt

My 2 year old boston terrier molly has been draggin her behind alot for last 2 weekish. Thought it was worms so gave her a wormer about 11 days ago.. today I noticed there was what seamed like a big irritated area on the left side of her bottom and a smaller on on the left. I added a photo I took and was hopein for some advice.. we washed her up and applied a bag balm to the area. I know alot of people might just say head to the vet but kind of broke atm so hoping for some suggestions that might make it possible to take care of it at home with a vet visit as very last resort.

Our dog has a cyst on the side of her butt and need to know if this is cureable and what the proper steps are for our dog> Money is tight so we need a home cure that will help.

Thank you so much for giving us a follow up on your baby.  My dog Chui has the same thing on his anal area.  The Vet wants me to pay around 600.00 to tell me what the bump can be.  The bump started off looking like a skin tag, much smaller, now it looks like the picture you posted.  I will get a second opinion.

Our dog has the same thing and we've been advised it will cost between $600 and $700 for surgery. This seems high when you compare it to the cost of having a male dog neutered. Our dog is in no pain, even when I gently squeeze the lump, there is no reaction.
Our dog has regular anal gland problems and we take him to the vet to have them emptied.
I'm going to talk to our vet about the pills the previous writer mentioned. I'm sure there is a less expensive remedy.

Well took her to vet this afternoon and after a little care she seams to be better now.. Some pills twice a day for a week and should be fine. Was a Abscesses but wasnt that bad it seams. Was pretty cheap also only running 35$ total ( ALOT cheaper than I was fearing) so think for advice.

I found a great service being vets are a bunch of theives that live on peoples emotional attachements to their dog who is a family member. I do alot of research now being I never owned a dog, and now have a maltese. I had alegies to pets, but my dog has hair instead of fur. When I first got her, she had kennel cough. 3 thousand dollars later treating knewmonia(sp) I always enter the problem as a search term, and get into blogs from people who have the same problem at times.

Also, I paid 14 dollars on a website I think was called ask an expert. I got a vet to answer my question on a home remedy for something my dog had, and gave me great advice. It beat paying 400 dollars plus just to have my dog looked at. So go to that website. You can send that vet a picture and they will help you the best they can. However I can not see your picture. It could be ringworm, but whenever a dog is off a bit, there is a problem. I read that dogs have 10 times more pain tollerance than humans. So if they are not feeling well, then usually its a major problem. Also, call your local ASPCA. I needed to get my dog fixed, and the vets wanted 400 plus dollars. The ASPCA reffered me to a doctor who did the procedure for 150.00. She is a caring vet. Didnt have the squicky clean waiting room that the other vet had, but Sami, my little baby, was up an running around the day after I got her back when she came off the pain killers. So call them. They will help you find a careing vet who really wants to help your animal instead the upkeep of their boat.

Bless her heart, I bet those hurt!!!  These are likely Anal Gland Abscesses....Whats happened is her Anal Glands have not emptied on their own & have become impacted, infection has set in and they are likely to rupture if you don't get to a Vet....I know that's not what you wanted to hear!

If these Rupture, IT"S A MESS & she will have to be treated immediately....Ruptures are very dangerous and extremely painful......The tissue just rips open....The open wounds are a nightmare for weeks!! Trust me, it's better to go now.....

Your Vet will drain these & provide oral antibiotics for the infection...It will be much less expensive to do it now as opposed to treating ruptures....

In the future, when she starts dragging her bottom, quickly get your groomer or Vet to empty her glands so this does not happen......Having her glands expressed is not a big deal & alot less money then what your dealing with now....

Also, be careful with the OTC wormers....Sadly, Some are deadly!!! It's best to take a fecal sample to your Vet & have it checked for parasites (If you suspect worms) BEFORE any wormer is given.....It is not worth the risk! Chemicals are chemicals and shouldn't be used unless absolutely necessary.....

Ask your Vet if you can pay out the bill....Check into Carecredit.com and see if you qualify for this card....Most Vet offices accept this as a form of payment......Can you borrow any money from someone?

Your gonna have to find a way to have her treated.....I bet she's miserable!!

It really is necessary to have her seen ASAP......Let us know how she is.....Karla
