Parvo?? I don't think so, but....

My friend's dog started vomiting this morning, and has bloody diarrhea. It's 4:27 p.m. and she has already gone to the bathroom at least ten times. I have seen dogs go through parvo, but this one had none of the other symptom, like loss of appetite or severe weakness and depression. The only other thing is the dog seems to act a little tired, but no more than a normal dog (dog is normally hyperactive). What is this? Is she gonna die? Oh, and a couple days ago she ran out of food and they fed her chips. Please don't post just to yell about the chips either-- I know what you're going to say, and it's not going to help the dog right now.

Hi,

Just an update. I have spoke with blink. The dog is fine now. In very good care. I know you mean well. I didn't take any offence to what you said. I just want you to know blink is a personal friend, and trust me he has a heart of gold!!! He would never hurt anything or anyone. This is not his dog, it belongs to a friend. As always blink is helping someone else. To know him is to love him! Super guy! I hope this makes you feel better. Have a very nice day and Thank You for your concern.  Kande

The dog is clearly very ill and must be taken to a vet immediately.

Since I'm always being accused of being "judgmental" I won't "yell" about the no food issue, except to say that perhaps its not a good idea to have a dog that you can't afford to feed.  If the owners are eating, the dog should be eating.

lepto, coccidia, or giardia.  A fecal sample taken to the vet would be my first to rule out these three.

Hey,

Now what are you doing here? No I'm just kidding you. Hey friend I have an address for you, I'll pm it to you as I don't think we are allowed to post web addresses. But I will tell you this could be serious. From what I read it is in the gastrointestinal tract. Something called "Hematochezia" if the dog passes clots, or bright red blood, and it is heavy bleeding then it can be everything from an injury to an infection...a lot of things. But I will send you that address, it covers a lot, good information. You scared me when I seen your post, I thought something might have happened to Tom. I'm sorry the dog is ill but I am so glad it wasn't Tom. I'll talk to you later.  ~Kande
