I am so sorry that it took so long to get back to you ...
She does not seem to be in pain at all ... because she will still chase after Buddy when he gets on her nerves. When she is sick and in pain she will not chase him ... she couldn't be bothered.
I check Abbey and Buddy for lumps all of the time, I actually took her to the vet one time because she had a tiny bump on her breast ... me I was worried ... very worried and when the vet looked at it ... it was an ingrown hair ... no infection ... but I felt better just having it checked out. There are no lumps at all at this time.
She is not searching as much as she was but in the morning she seems to be looking for something ... still don't know what .... it's kind of crazy ... maybe as seeana said she is looking for more attention ... as we do treat her as a little princess ...
Oh and her poops are normal ... I don't know what it can be ... I am such a worrier when it comes to my little furbabies ... I worry about every little thing.
Thank you so much for your help all of the time. I do so appreciate all of you!
~~Luann
Hi LuAnn....What your describing (Restless behavior) is Pain! Could be muscle or back pain.....Is Abbey a jumper? Off of furniture and such? Has she gone crazy (That your aware of) and possibly pulled a muscle? Leg? Hip? Back? Remember anything happening?
If not, Let's go back to the immunizations? Where were they given? Between shoulder blades or leg? Feel of the injection sight and see if there is a knot or lump? This is common and can be painful for weeks...Especially, after a reaction to the shots....
If you see nothing, your gonna have to watch to pick up on any sign that's different....
Pay close attention to her posture...Look for something that just isn't right.....Maybe we can narrow this down......Let me know if you come up with anymore details.....Karla
P.S. Did her poop look normal? Thanks
No of course you are not crazy! well if you are ....so are all us regulers on this forum.lol
It might just be she wants your attention ,I know she would get a lot But she wants it all the time.... my Golden Shane does the funniest things just so I will laugh at him.
If he saw a mouse he would take me to it and want me to make sure it was ok !that is my gentle angel.
Anyway it will be interesting what turns up but be assured that you are her life.
When you ask if she is in pup I take it that you mean is she in heat ... no she is not ... I had her spayed when she was 6 months old as the Vet told me that it would be better for her and ward off certain cancers. Both of my babies have been fixed so there are no puppies ... they are brother and sister so it would not have been a good idea for them to mate.
I hope you don't think I am crazy and over reactive ... it's just my puppies are my fur kids as I never had children so they are it ... they are my world and I am a bit of a worrier.
She right now is just standing and staring at me ... if you take her for a walk she acts normal she walks ... but she is looking at me like she wants something.
She has a lot of toys ... and they are all there ... I can't figure her out she is a very smart little girl and I think she retains more than 200 words ... problem is I don't speak her language ... I of course know the obvious ... when she wants water, or when she is hungry ... etc. all the usual things ... she gives me little tiny woofs when she would like a treat ... but she has me stumped ... she is not sick she is just acting odd.
A friend of mine told me that her dog acted this way when there was a mouse in the house so I am going to set a trap and see what happens. It would make sense because she is looking ... searching for something.
I also am stumped.
Yeah kind of stumped too......But if this is a new behavior i would take her to the vet to rule out a medical issue (Hormonal, pain ect.).Once you take her to the vet and rule out if it is a medical issue or a behavioral issue.Sorry was not much help.
Sorry dont mean to flippent.Just watch her it will either resolve itself or become more apparent what is going on.It is very odd as she should exibit more than just being restless as that is the type of thing they do when about to give birth or puppies moving about. And you would know that. Got me thinking now !!
Hopefully other members can help...... Im stumped
Hmmm this happens all the time with Shane my Golden but he is looking for his fav toy or ball but he barks out his orders to me and I find what he wants have gone through heaps of toys and balls before I find the one he wants.
Maybelle my Clumber howls in the middle of the night when she is caught short or for me to let the cat in.
Oscar my other Clumber loves any squeaky toys the louder the better, so barking ,howling and squeaking. How did I let this happen?? save me lol.
All I can think of is she has a mild case of colic or she had a dream. What does she do when you take her for a walk ? has she got toys to play with and if so are they all there.
When she is doing this ask her what she wants? she should try to tell you. As dogs can retain over 200 words.
My best guess is that she has a tummy ache like gastro which eases when she moves.
AH....she is not in pup is she lol.
