My dog is always sick :(

I have a dog I rescued not to long ago, I was told that she is a boxer/greyhound mix. She was extremely emaciated when we adopted her, and we've been trying to put at least a little weight on her. I know she is part greyhound so she will be a certain type of skinny. But she just can't seem to put on any weight. You can basically see all the ribs and her hip bones.

What I'm concerned about is the fact that since we got her she has acted normal, playful, energetic and never acted sick, BUT she can't keep anything down. She is always vomiting. We feed her blue buffalo dry food mixed with a tablespoon or two of the wet food. Our three other dogs get fed the same food. She just can't seem to keep anything down. Today she has been vomiting big pools of brown liquid at least 4 times, and this is the usual everyday. She is drinking, eating, and acting normally, just can't keep any food down.

Her bowel movements are normal as well.  Everything else seems completely normal. We are planning on taking her to the vet but just got through another incident with our other dog at the vet so we can't afford to take her just the minute.

If anyone has any suggestions or maybe can help us figure something out until we take her to the vet it would be much appreciated. Thank you so much.

We have a dog like this. We cut up a hot dog, (the cheapest kind) into tiny pieces and she never gets sick on this. Bad diet I guess but she's kept it down for years. Low fat deli ham and buttered toast in tiny bites also stay down.
Good luck

Thank you everyone, for responding. I did try feeding her just plain chicken and rice but she was still sick afterwards. we are definitely planning on a new vet visit soon.
The rescue we got her from was keeping her at a vet office where she was kept in a crate 90% of the day. The vet was very quick to say there was nothing wrong and really pushed for us to adoption. Im kind of thinking they didnt want to tell me about something wrong in case I didnt want her after finding out. :(

I was told by someone to try a raw diet. Any comments about that sort of diet or what kind of raw foods I should try?

A mixture of cooked rice and chicken (plain, no adding anything) is the gentlest thing you can feed your dog at home.  It is not meant for regular feeding, but may help her tummy for now.  Blessings to you and your new dog (THANK YOU for giving a homeless animal a place to live!) - Blu

If you are goosey about going to the vet you already saw, go to a different one and have them do a full CBC workup.  It could be a wealth of issues including food allergies.

I actually used to help with Greyhound rescue.  Grey's have, or should have, very little fat.  I agree in what you are describing is too thin.  Has the dig been Vet checked?  If not, I suggest you take it in for a physical, have blood work done and take in a fresh stool sample to be checked for parasites.  This may or may not indicate what the problem might be.
