Sofie got bit

Sofie got bit by a Raccoon type animal yesterday. It's a small hole in her front leg, but doesn't go all the way thru.
I put antiseptic & have been using Neosporin.
   She's limping a little. Otherwise she's eating & drinking.
What do I look for to see if it's getting infected? Oozing or something?
Right now it just looks like a cut or small hole. Thanks

Is she up to date on her rabies vaccinations?   If not, she needs them NOW, in case the animal that bit her was rabid.   Once symptoms begin to show it is too late so make sure she is protected.

Puncture wounds become infected easily.   Make sure it stays open and heals from the inside out, otherwise if it heals over before it is healed inside, a pus pocket can form and become dangerous to her health.  Keep doing what you are doing, but make sure those vaccinations are current.

Okay it sounds like you are doing the right thing but you have to be very careful about puncture wounds. They can cause infection to go deep. Keep a careful look out for any swelling around the bite area, and pus and oozing. Or limping more. Don't wait if you see anything which shows you things are not going very well. Get to the vet for an antibiotic shot. Keep a careful eye on this. A Raccoon's teeth may transmit many bacteria.
