WARNING!!!! WARNING!!!!

I have just found something in a bag of food that doesn't belong....Two of my dogs would NOT have eaten it. One would have thought about it & my "Mill Baby" would have eaten it in a second! Had it made it into his bowl, it would have either lodged in his throat or caused intestinal blockage. This is Saturday and I am 70 Miles from an Emergency Center. I fear he would NOT have made it! The item measures 3/4" long, 5/8"wide, 1/2"thick. It is solid black with very jagged edges. In trying to decide what it is, I bit the edge and it's rock hard, but splintered like glass. It smells like burnt rubber. I've decided it is a piece of a tire or thick belt that has been cooked in the kibble! I called the company and they are closed till Monday. Their opening statement on an answering machine was something about "The Healthiest food in the World". That was a great opener for the INTENSE message I left!  I fear a Furkid somewhere is eating another piece of this and will become extremely ill or die, and there's nothing I can do. :(  I purchased this bag on 9-20-08  in large town other than where I live. The product is Innova Evo (Grainfree) (Yellow & Grey Bag) Turkey & Chicken - Small Bites. I'm terribly disappointed because this is suppose to be top-of-the-line food and my dogs love it. I guess this is another reminder why I also, cook for my dogs. If you feed this food, keep a close eye out....If anyone else has a suggestion, please let me know....Thanks.....Karla

Good Lord!  Thank God you noticed that "thing!"  Make sure you show it to the manager at the store you purchased the food from too.  The written word and pictures carry a lot more weight than a phone call, so send a certified letter with a photo of the object to both the store and the manufacturer.  Sic 'em!!

Its up to us dog owners to make sure we kick up a stink, if we sit back and not say anything they will keep doing this!  If you have a bad batch of dog food dont buy that brand again!   Its disgusting they shouldnt be able to get away with this!

Hi, you were very lucky you found that. I bought a bag of trats for my dogs. I had already given them some when I notice at the bottom of the bag the treats had moled all over them!! When I went back to the store ( a big chain store ) I was told oh, I am sorry. I told them I would be back and if those same snacks were on the shelf I would call the main office. Well they were still there, so I called and left a message and emailed. Never heard a word back.  Rhonda

Oh my! Good thing u found it.. now i'd be calling the company and asking what it is.. and if it means u won something. Like maybe a law suit?

Oh my gosh.....I am so glad you found it!! That would've been an awful situation. Let us know what the company says if they get back to you.

wow that was lucky! yeh I dont trust dog food either! I also cook for my dogs! but sometimes you have no choice eg special diets etc. You really dont know what this stuff is made of , but as you know its not just pet food we need to worry about , human food also has its risks.
