woops..sent that too soon...
I gave Sweetie Nurtical every 3 hours before food, this must
be like the Nutrigel you are using(?) and sorry to tell you but
I fed her the chicken/baby rice cereal, bananas and sweet
potatoes round the clock to stimulate her appetite and put
something in her tummy...every 5 hours, day and through
the night into the morning.
I HOPE THINGS TURN AROUND VERY SOON.
PLEASE come back and let us know how your fur baby is
doing...

Ok so I had a Chihuahua several years ago who had her eye
removed due to a severe scratch on her eye that got infected
and "Sweetie pie" acted similar. One, she was in pain, has your
vet given pain meds(?) she had them for 7 days post surgery,
she did not understand at first it's HUGE difference in her sight
and vision, this took about 4 months for her to fully adjust.
Since she IS DRINKING water or pet milk,I would try using
Greber baby chicken, use some rice baby cereal mixed with
water since cereal will thicken the chicken a bit.I used a very
small spoon,to feed her,in the front of her mouth and scraped
the sppon on the top( roof) of her mouth and she ate it,I fed
her this every 5 hours.
I also fed her Gerber sweet potaotes by spoon, and bananas
by spoon about 15 minutes after the chicken/cereal to stimulate
her appetite.(yams for the fiber and bananas for potasium)
Sweetie's normal appetite kicked in after 2 days,I gave her
her kibble (moistened with hot water, left water on for 2-3
minutes then drained off) and mixed in some good quality
canned in the moist kibble.
LOTS OF PETS,LOTS OF LOVING AND CUDDLES,she
did fine and lived to be 16 years old,it's just a HUGE,MAJOR
shock to her body and system after loosing the eye at first,
think of IF YOU HAD JUST LOST ONE EYE,SHE NEEDS
LOVE AND COMFORT and pain meds as she will be in
pain at first.
She also may not have good balance as TWO EYES help
us all, human and animal have correct pereferal vision to
see thing the correct way,Sweetie acted "drunk" and unsure
of her balance at first, say for 8-10 days after her surgery but
then she balanced things out fine.
