Females are always smaller than males. If a dog is bred to meet its breed standard as closely as possible, you can look at a male and a female of the breed standing next to each other and easily see that one is more feminine looking and one is more masculine looking.
With regard to height, Shar Peis range from 18 to 20 inches, with males being on the large side of the scale and females being on the low side of the scale. Of course, there are always exceptions and there are always going to be individuals that are smaller or larger than the standard calls for. Shar Peis would be considered a medium sized breed, ranging in weight from 45 to 60 pounds, but again, depending upon the individual, they can be heavier or lighter. By the age of about 18 months most medium sized breeds have reached their full size and, if anything, will just fill out a bit more as they mature. At 10 months, she has probably reached about 85-90% of her adult height. She may put on another inch or two and will gain maybe 10 more pounds by maturity.

She may have a little to go yet, being just 10 months old. Most Shar peis get to about 20inches at the shoulder, but females are always smaller than males. She is in adolescence right now (taking the average life span of Shar peis into account, she will reach maturity in about 6 months time, when she will probably stop gaining height, though she will probably still gain bulk and muscle tone). When she reaches 2 yrs old, she will be at the equivalent of a 20+yr old human. Tony
