my dog has pyometra

My 9yr old bull mastiff is having emergency surgery/spaying in the morning. She is so sick. I feel so bad for her.  They are pretty sure she has open pyometra which is an infection of the uterus. Hopefully she makes it through the night only 7hrs to go. Although they said if they find cancer while they are doing the surgery they will put her to sleep. So scared this might be the last time I see her. She is suffering really bad right now and hopefully the surgery will fix everything. They don't really have any reason to think she has cancer, unless its not pyometra. They wont know until they open her up. She has all the pyometra symptoms. Maybe a prayer or two from you guys would help?

I have only just seen your post. I hope by now she is recovering from surgery?

Prayers on the way and paws crossed.  If it is an open pyometra, ask the Vet about treating with IV Baytril.
